One to One Education
This is the cornerstone of our service provision, and generally the first point of contact people have with PIP. Education sessions are designed to be proactive, and responsive to the expressed needs of each person. Our experienced educators draw upon a spectrum of skills and muti-media resources to create unique personalized programmes.
Issues and subjects raised for discussion in one-to-one education sessions might include:
Self Esteem
Understanding and dealing with feelings of fear, anger, anxiety, inadequacy and loneliness, and promoting strategies and skills for enhancing wellbeing.
Communication
Expressing oneself, listening and being listened to.
Consent and Making Choices
Decisions and related responsibilities.
Protective Education
Strategies and skills for personal safety and wellbeing.
Public and Private
Places and spaces – what is acceptable and where.
Making Friends
Skills to establish a network of people for fun, trust, and support.
Personal and Social Relationships
Understanding different kinds of relationships.
Puberty
‘Growing up’ – dealing with experiences of physical and emotional changes and development.
Sexuality and Sexual Health
Contraception, reproductive health and understanding consent and negotiating for safer sex.
Pregnancy and Parenting
Choices and responsibilities.
