School Programs
PIP offers metro and non-metro primary and secondary students in independent and public schools an opportunity to participate in protective educational programmes which are linked to the Department of Education’s curriculum framework and the Disability Services Standards.
Subject areas include:
Feelings
Understanding different kinds of feelings-such as ‘empathy’.
Self-esteem
Feeling good about you.
Touching
Understanding ‘good’ and ‘bad’ or confusing touch
Public and Private Places and Spaces
What things are O.K. to do in different places.
Making Friends
Meeting and talking to new people and developing social networks.
Dealing with ‘Put-Downs’
Bullying and teasing.
Puberty
Your changing body, your feelings and becoming an adult.
Sexual and Intimate Relationships
All about sex, feelings, love, and consent.
Consent
Saying ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ assertively and making good choices.
In consultation with teaching staff, students are encouraged to determine the relevance, focus, and content of each programme.
